This workshop is built around three topics that take you step by step from light theory to a complete portrait setup. You work with professional equipment and practise with a model — the ideal introduction to studio photography.
You discover the difference between hard and soft light, how light fall-off works, how reflections affect your image and why colour temperature matters more than you think.
We go through the most commonly used studio equipment and light modifiers: softbox, beauty dish, snoot, umbrella, reflector. You learn what each tool does to your light and when to use what.
Step by step you go from a single light source to a complete setup. You practise the classic lighting recipes: Rembrandt, butterfly, split, loop, broad and short lighting.
